The Problem

Students are facing a changing landscape with regards to college admissions. Tuition is rising at high rates. Admissions is more difficult due to growing competition. And policies are shifting causing colleges, departments, and funding sources to close.

But high schools are not equipped to keep pace with these changes.

Even highly selective high schools are not able to meet the needs of all students. They may not have the capacity to find all types of fit: academic, social, and financial. And for colleges that are expecting a phone call, high schools simply can’t do that for everyone.

Meanwhile students of color, LGBTQ students, undocumented students, and students living in poverty navigate schools with various types of anxiety from stereotype threat to imposter syndrome. Unfortunately these anxieties exist even when students are attending highly selective private high schools; in some cases the anxiety is even more acute.

If their college counseling isn’t equipped to meet their various needs in an ever-changing landscape, it isn’t serving them.

What We Offer

Navega is a boutique college counseling service based on decades of data in college access, educational equity, and education science. Our goal is to ensure students graduate on-time with as little debt as possible.

  • All engagements start with a consultation. Some may even end here. We are not trying to sell you services you don’t need or keep you in a loop of anxiety and fear. After the consultation, we put together a task and scholarship dashboard for you so that you are organized and working efficiently.

  • If you would like services but not a full engagement, we offer a la carte services. We can review applications, essays, and build the custom dashboard.

  • This is best for students who need a high touch service but a shorter timeline (around one year). In addition to the a la carte services, this package includes test prep and regular check-ins.

  • This is our most popular especially for students who are ready to get started in 9th grade. For one price, we provide the services in the Quarterly Package, executive functioning, tutoring, and other academic supports in addition to college counseling. This price locks in our services until your students steps foot in the dorm.
